After studying at the National School of Decorative Arts and the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, Marc Bankowsky first practiced painting. His meeting with the painter José Fabri-Canti led him to Corsica to found Cyrne Arte, phalanstery bringing together visual artists, comedians and musicians. Sculpture, ceramic, mosaic, brassware, ironwork workshops are set up in a village in Balagne. He learned about frescoes and mosaics and continued his career as a painter while participating in the organization of the first music festivals in Corsica. Museums and Houses of Culture exhibit his works. For its opening, the Center Georges Pompidou commissioned a monumental work, installed in front of the entrance. His taste for modeling and the magic of certain objects led him to work in the 1980s with bronze, to which he has since dedicated himself, reviving his mythological roots. Peter Marino asked him to make stools and silverware for Christian Dior. The forces of nature, through the vegetable, mineral and animal kingdoms, become furniture and objects of bronze and also of plaster and resin, attracting renowned decorators as well as a private clientele from the USA, Europe and Asia.
