Osvaldo Borsani (1911-1985)

Born in 1911 in Italy, Osvaldo Borsani joined the Brera Academy in Milan and then studied at the Ecole Polytechnique until 1937. He won the silver medal at the 5th Milan Triennale with his project Casa Minima. He collaborates as early as 1932 with Milanese artists such as Lucio Fontana, Arnaldo and Gio Pomodoro. In 1953, the designer founded the firm Tecno and achieved great success. He designs furniture for Italian designers such as Gio Ponti or Mario Bellini. In 1970, he created a collaborative laboratory, the Progetti Tecno, to design new products.

Its production is characterized by furniture with innovative design made with great technique. His creations are primarily functional, comfortable while keeping a real aesthetic. Osvaldo Borsani creates timeless pieces such as the sofa bed or the revolving chair (1956).
