Who is

Finn Juhl (1912-1989)

Born in 1912 in Denmark, Finn Juhl is a Danish architect and designer. He studied at the School of Architecture of the Royal Danish Academy. After graduating, Finn Juhl worked in an architecture firm for about ten years before setting up his own firm. It is in collaboration with Niels Vodder that he realizes his first innovative creations of furniture, always with a commitment to the quality of the production. Awarded by five gold medals at the Milan Triennale in 1950, his reputation became international. Finn Juhl favors organic shapes that often bring wood to the limits of what is possible He is one of the main figures of the Danish design of the 1940s.
