Who is

Alessandro Mendini (1931-)

Born in 1931 in Milan, Alessandro Mendini is an Italian architect and designer.
He studied at the Polytechnic School of Milan until 1959. In the late 1970s, he co-founded the Global Tools School of Design. In 1989 he created Atelier Mendini with his brother Francesco Mendini. His work is part of a process, both decorative and critical, that aims to break with international modernism, especially thanks to the colors he uses to revive everyday objects. Alessandro Mendini is a follower of "redesign", he transforms and embellishes objects created by other designers with new materials and new colors.
