Born in 1913 in Milan, Piero Fornasetti is an Italian painter, sculptor and designer. After studying drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Italy, it is in the workshop of his father that he experiments several printing techniques, engravings, and acquires a precise dexterity in the execution. Piero Fornasetti creates the Stemperia D'Arte Piero Fornasetti and prints books for the most famous artists of his time. Piero Fornasetti does not limit his artistic approach to painting. Visionary, he extended it to all objects, materials and surfaces. Fornasetti also studied glass, ceramics, fabric, wood and paper. The most frequent motifs of Fornasetti are related to fantastic architectures, obelisks, card games, and optical illusions.
